Originally from Massachusetts, Emma T. Comery is currently a senior at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where she is pursuing an English and Spanish double major with a creative writing minor. She has published several poetry and fiction pieces in Centre's Vantage Point literary magazine, of which she is also the Copy Editor. Emma's interests include running, hiking, googling pictures of fennec foxes, and researching the literary and feminist histories of Latin American and Celtic cultures. She plans to continue her studies in multicultural writing in a post-graduate program. Her article "'Tú hablas ahora:' Viequense Female Archetype and Agency in the Works of Carmelo RodrÍguez Torrez" examines Torres' portrayal of women within the context of Puerto Rico occupied and feminist history. Emma's mentor Dr. Daniel Arbino, Assistant Professor of Spanish at Centre College, describes Emma as "a serious and dedicated student."
