Dr. Walter Borowski, Zeke Buskirk & Scott Winter

Dr. Walter S. Borowski, Professor of Geosciences, is the mentor of Reid (Zeke) Buskirk and James (Scott) Winter who are conducting undergraduate research at EKU’s Meadowbrook Farm. Zeke and Scott are assessing the manner of transport and measuring the quantity of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) that runoff from the farm to enter Muddy Creek, a tributary of the Kentucky River.

Mentorship of the Month: Dr. Judith Jenkins and Kylie Sizemore

I had Dr. Jenkins in my Freshman year for CHE 110 and ASO 100. I had asked her to be my mentor halfway through the semester because she taught the ASO course I took and I felt like I knew her a little better than a random assigned adviser. She agreed and help me plan out my next few semesters.

Dr. Kelly Watson & Larissa Watkins

Dr. Kelly Watson has been my advisor for Geography & Geospatial techniques for the past several years. She teaches Remote Sensing as well as a variety of Geography courses. She really enjoys working with students one-on-one for research and I am lucky enough to get to work with her on several projects.

Originally from Massachusetts, Emma T. Comery is currently a senior at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where she is pursuing an English and Spanish double major with a creative writing minor. She has published several poetry and fiction pieces in Centre's Vantage Point literary magazine, of which she is also the Copy Editor.
